Jacques Chretien is a French chef whose experience as a chef spans over 20 years. His culinary creations have graced some of the finest tables in France and Mexico including such landmark restaurants as Tour d’Argent in Paris, Chez Bruneau in Brussels, Belgium and Maxim’s de Paris in Mexico City – a five star restaurant opened by Chef Chretien recognized as one of the top French restaurants in all of Latin America. Born in Ligueil, a small village in the Loire Valley of France, Chef Chretien was educated in the art of gourmet cooking in France. He brought his unique culinary style and innovation to Mexico in 1998. Jacques is well versed in not only French cuisine but also in the French approach to dining where sitting down for a meal is not just a matter of satisfying an appetite. The French way of dining is to savor food and drink and celebrate life and love with friends and family.

The French Riviera is the culmination of Chef Chretien’s dream of owning and operating a restaurant where nothing is left to chance. Opened in September of 2002, his exacting care and meticulous direction have made The French Riviera Restaurant one of the true gourmet restaurants not only in Cabo but all of Baja. In March of 2005 he was honored with the title of Maitre Cuisinier de France, a distinction only bestowed upon the elite Chefs of the world. Chef Chretien is one of only five Chefs in Mexico who hold the title and he is the only French Master Chef in Baja. Included among the many restaurants that have benefited from his talents are:
